Privacy Policy

Capstan Works ("we", "us") operates the website at https://capstanworks.com. This page explains what limited data the site collects and how it is handled. We have tried to keep this short and accurate to what the site actually does.
The short version
This is a marketing website. We use two analytics tools (Cloudflare and HubSpot) to understand how the site is used; HubSpot sets cookies, and where the law requires it you can accept or decline those cookies through the banner on the site. We do not sell your personal information. If you submit our contact form, the details you enter are sent to us through HubSpot, our CRM. The interactive tools on this site run entirely in your browser; what you type into them stays on your device unless you choose to send it to us through that form.
What we collect
Cloudflare Web Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited and roughly how the site performs. It is cookieless, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other sites. It records aggregate technical information such as the page visited, referring site, general country, browser type, and load timing.
HubSpot analytics. We also use HubSpot, our CRM and marketing platform, to understand how visitors use the site and to follow up on genuine interest in our services. HubSpot is a third-party provider and it sets cookies on your device (for example to recognize a returning visitor) and records pageview and behavioral information. Where consent is required, these cookies are set only after you accept them. See HubSpot's own privacy notice at https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy.
Hosting and security data. The site is served by Cloudflare. As our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare processes standard request information, including your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This is handled under Cloudflare's own data terms.
If you contact us through our form. Our contact page has a short form, hosted and processed by HubSpot (our CRM), that you can use to request a Data Foundation Audit. When you submit it you provide your name, work email, company or website, and a short message about your portal, and that information is sent to and stored in our HubSpot account. We use it only to respond and to scope the work. If you email us at the address in the footer instead, that email is hosted by Google Workspace. Each provider handles the data under its own terms (see HubSpot's notice linked above). We keep this information only as long as it is useful for the conversation or our records, and you can ask us to delete it.
If you book a call with us. We use HubSpot's scheduling tool to let you pick a meeting time. When you book, the details you enter (such as your name, email, and the time you choose) are sent to and stored in our HubSpot account, the same CRM described above, and are handled under HubSpot's terms. We use them only to hold and prepare for the call.
The interactive tools
The tools on this site (the HubSpot Fit Check, Data Debt Cost Estimator, ICP Fit Score, Persona Builder, and RevOps Data Readiness Scorecard) compute their results entirely in your browser. The information you enter to get a result is not transmitted to us and is gone when you close the tab. If a tool offers an optional step to send us your details or request an audit, that step uses the same HubSpot contact form described above, and only the details you then choose to submit (such as your name and email) reach us. The site-wide analytics described above see which page you are on, but never what you type into a tool.
Cookies and your choices
Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies. HubSpot sets analytics cookies, which are not strictly necessary for the site to work. If you are in a region whose law requires prior consent for non-essential cookies (such as the EU or UK), those cookies are set only after you accept them through the cookie banner, and you can decline or change your choice there. You can also clear cookies in your browser at any time.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your personal information. We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels, and we use no third-party analytics or marketing trackers other than the Cloudflare and HubSpot services described above.
Your choices and rights
If you are in a region with data protection rights (such as the EU or UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you can ask us what information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can decline non-essential cookies as described above. To make a request, email us at the address in the footer.
Third-party links
Pages on this site embed or link to third-party services, such as the HubSpot form on our contact page and the external reference links in our articles. Their privacy practices are their own and are not covered by this policy.
Changes
If the site begins to collect anything new, we will update this page before that change goes live.
